Francis Bacon
Francis Bacon (1909–1992) was an Irish-born British painter known for his raw, visceral, and emotionally intense artworks. His distorted, often grotesque figures explored themes of suffering, isolation, and existential dread. Influenced by war, photography, and the Old Masters, Bacon developed a unique style characterised by bold colours, blurred forms, and dynamic movement.
